Australia gets 13% of electricity from renewable energy in 2012

Clean Energy Council: “The Clean Energy Australia Report 2012”

June 2013: According to the Clean Energy Council, Australia sourced a record-breaking 13% of its electricity from renewable sources in 2012.  The group also estimates that the clean energy industry contributed $4.2 billion in investment and approximately 24,300 jobs to the Australian economy in the same year. 

“The cost of fossil fuels such as gas has been going up, while clean energy has been getting cheaper – fast.”
