- 2:00PM, 14 February 2013
- 3:00PM, 14 February 2013
At 2pm GMT on February 14, you will be able to talk live with Christiana Figueres, Executive Secretary, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), in the first of our 2013 series of Twitter Q&As.
As we leave COP 18 in Doha behind us and look ahead to 2015 in hopes of an international climate agreement, with the title of ‘How can the world achieve the right momentum for a global climate framework?’, this discussion couldn't come at a more crucial moment in time.
Responding to your proposals around this topic will be Christiana Figueres, Executive Secretary, UNFCCC, who has been involved in climate negotiations since 1995. Christiana was a member of the Costa Rican negotiating team and has represented Latin America and the Caribbean on the Executive Board of the Clean Development Mechanism. She has also served on several boards of non-governmental organizations involved in climate change issues. As the UN's top climate change official, Christiana has helped oversee the major UN climate change conferences in Cancun in 2010, Durban in 2011 and in Doha at the end of last year.
The live discussion will take place between 2-3pm GMT (3-4pm CET) on Thursday February 14, 2013, as part of our 2013 Twitter Q&A series, which will run throughout the year and feature high-profile, expert guests sharing their insights on a range of clean revolution topics.
To take part, all you need to do is log in to Twitter and head to @ClimateGroup at 2pm on February 14 and ask your on-topic question.
To ensure Christiana doesn’t miss your question, be sure to include the hashtag #CleanRevolution in your tweet.
During the session, we would appreciate it if you could re-tweet the questions and answers to maximize exposure of the discussion. The world's leading businesses and governments must pay attention to this important discussion.
After the session, you will be able to find a summary highlighting the key points from the debate on our website.
Earlier on in the day, at 11am GMT we are also the proud partner of an EU-hosted Twitter chat with EU Climate Commissioner Connie Hedegaard. Join in the discussion @CHedegaard and by using the hashtag #worldulike if you would like to speak to Commissioner Hedegaard too!
